A new preview does not reopen Pichau’s advance entries

Pichau Arena’s new category preview introduces performance, costume parade, Kids and Cospobre for October 10–12 at Joinville Square Garden in Joinville, Santa Catarina, Brazil. The linked official competition page explicitly marks Apresentação Cosplay, Desfile Cosplay and Kids registrations closed. It distinguishes performance and character interpretation from the parade’s emphasis on costume construction. This is an upcoming event with closed advance categories, not a fresh invitation to apply to all four formats. [1] [2] [3]

For your next buildChoose the category by what it evaluates, then check its actual entry status. Accepted entrants should follow their organizer instructions; a newly published promotional article does not override the closure labels. General event admission is separate from competitor acceptance. The official home page lists noon access for Passaporte/VIP and 1 pm for other entries, so match arrival plans to the ticket you hold. Remaining ticket capacity is not established here.

Cospobre has its own on-site queue

On that same Pichau page, Cospobre is a distinct low-budget creative-costume format hosted by Posers Podcast, with cardboard, tape and improvisation explicitly celebrated. Unlike the closed advance categories, it lists in-person registration on the day, first come first served, limited to 50 participants per contest. Solo and group presentations enter audience-response duels; three consecutive wins lead to a qualifying zone, followed by a final judged by invited guests. These are advertised rules, not results or a guarantee of a place. [2] [10]

For your next buildBring one instantly readable character cue and rehearse a short presentation with any group members. Read the linked full Cospobre regulation before joining the queue; this summary is not the complete eligibility or conduct policy. The page says a different Cospobre costume is needed to compete on different days and a day’s champion cannot repeat the same outfit on following days. This extends October 4’s London distinction between closed advance entries and a separate on-site route, without transferring either organizer’s rules to the other.

Sharjah’s application page confirms a noon cutoff

Following Sharjah24’s October 7 report, SACC’s own rules and live 2026 application page both state a submission deadline of 12 pm on October 15. The competition is Saturday, October 24 at the Gaming Stage, Aljada, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, with a 3–7:30 pm show and 2–2:30 pm roll-call. The rules allow contestants aged 15 and above, one category and one costume, based on an existing published character; costumes must be primarily self-created or significantly modified. The application page was available at today’s check, with no closure notice. [4] [5] [6]

For your next buildKeep the character reference and disclose significant outside help. Read the media-release and prop rules before applying. Scoring allocates 30 points each to portrayal and performance, 20 each to storytelling/creativity and crowd engagement. The noon deadline has no explicit timezone label: confirm it with the organizer and submit early. No submission was made; form availability does not guarantee selection.

New York’s new gallery broadens the reference shelf

Jen Lennon’s October 9 Gizmodo gallery selects costumes photographed on New York Comic Con’s first day: Qifrey from Witch Hat Atelier, Cloud Strife and Firion from Final Fantasy, Star Trek, Krampus and several Marvel characters among them. Firion is identified specifically in his Dissidia costume, an important version distinction for anyone gathering references. The photographs are credited to Adriano Contreras/io9. This follows yesterday’s opening-day account with a more specific editorial selection, not a second report of the convention opening. [7] [9]

For your next buildWrite the character and design version at the top of your reference board before studying details. A named alternate costume can explain why two accurate builds look different. Link the original gallery for photographs and credits; no images are reproduced here. Its selection demonstrates range within one photographer’s day-one coverage, not a census of NYCC, a global fandom ranking or evidence of the materials used to construct the photographed costumes.

Keep the offcuts for a small sculpted detail

Worbla’s scrap-reuse guide collects maker demonstrations of reheating offcuts into new sheets or sculptural elements. It credits Kamui’s use of scraps for bracelets and other sculpted pieces, and Raven Wei’s use for delicate Lumina heel and shoulder embellishments. The guide also documents FC Cosplay’s roller method, noting that re-formed sheets can wrinkle and require further work. This is established brand-hosted guidance, not a new material launch or proof that every reused piece matches fresh sheet stock. [8] [10]

For your next buildKeep a labeled bag of clean offcuts from the same Worbla product and try a small non-structural emblem before a large costume component. Follow that product’s heating and handling guidance and protect against burns; the guide explicitly warns about hot material. Compare the cooled sample’s thickness and surface with the intended use. Do not generalize these methods to unknown plastics or promise measured waste savings. After October 4’s mold-compatibility test, this adds another small-sample decision: whether the recovered material suits the detail you need.

Checked October 9, 2026, America/Detroit. Five findings across five independent external source domains: two distinct Pichau angles, a recent Sharjah report with verified official deadline, a new day-one gallery and an established craft primer—not five overnight announcements. Prior seven editions reviewed; unchanged recurring deadlines omitted. Today adds Brazilian primary-source entry-status checks and a UAE application-destination check. Pichau’s article date is search-indexed; undated organizer and tutorial pages retain no publication date. Deadline timezone ambiguity is preserved. No forms submitted, sponsored placements, visitor estimates or reproduced photography.
