Málaga’s early report is about the experience, not the winners
Xataka’s October 3 report describes the opening Thursday and part of Friday at San Diego Comic-Con Málaga, running October 1–4 at FYCMA in Málaga, Spain. The writer speaks with a Loki cosplayer and describes a programme that includes learning to photograph cosplayers alongside comics, games and screen guests. The account finds more room to move than last year, while reporting inconsistent instructions about bringing a water flask. Those are attributed observations from the early days, not a weekend-wide access audit, a cosplay popularity ranking or Saturday’s contest results. [1][2]
For your next buildBuild a route around one priority session, a rest stop and the costume’s practical needs. Check the organizer’s current entry rules and confirm unclear container requirements with staff; this report is not permission to bring a particular flask. For a photo session, agree on the pose and location with the cosplayer before shooting. The report does not establish the construction materials of the costumes it photographs, and no images are reproduced here.
A contest promotion can remain live after entries close
Málaga’s official BBVA Cosplay Contest page explicitly says the registration period has ended, even though its introductory invitation to take the stage remains visible. The organizer’s September programme places the contest in Hall M on Saturday, October 3 at 19:30, with Kamui Cosplay, Ayuru Cosplay, Sabaku Cosplay and Like Linda named as judges. That scheduled start is already past at this Detroit evening check. The programme establishes the announced slot and panel, not that the show ran as planned or who won. [2][3]
For your next buildSeparate the spectator programme from the contestant application. Do not treat the page’s prize promotion or its old promise to contact selected entrants “over the next few weeks” as a reopened call. Accepted entrants should rely on their current organizer instructions. No last-minute entry route, remaining seat or result is verified. The programme article is indexed September 11 but carries a September 10 dateline; neither is a new announcement today.
Singapore’s 2026 heading leads to a closed 2025 form
Singapore Comic Con’s competition page is headed “2026” and mentions 2026 ticket holders, but its contest date still reads “7 December 2024, Sunday,” its prizes are labeled 2025 and a rule asks for a 2025 ticket. Both application buttons lead to a form titled SGCC 2025 Cosplay Competition Application, which explicitly says it is no longer accepting responses. The organizer’s event footer confirms December 5–6, 2026 at Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre in Singapore, with a separate December 4 preview night. The event dates do not resolve the contest-page contradictions. [4][5][6][8]
For your next buildDo not use the page’s yearless “7 November” line as a verified 2026 application deadline, or infer that the 2026 competition itself is canceled or closed. Today’s verified closure belongs to the linked 2025 form; a valid 2026 application route remains unconfirmed. This extends September 27’s Detroit link check: inspect the destination’s event and year, not just the button label, before preparing an entry. No form was submitted.

A sculpted updo needs time to cool in position
Hee-Hee’s Arda Wigs tutorial documents a Countess updo inspired by Lady Gaga’s character in American Horror Story: Hotel. Starting with an Ash Blonde Matilda wig, the maker separates the hair into sections, forms lower rolls, secures them with pins and smooths upper sections over the structure. Pins hold the curved areas while hairspray dries and warmed fibers cool; the maker emphasizes that uncooled fibers have not set. This is a documented construction sequence for one heat-stylable wig, not a new release or evidence of a wider horror-cosplay trend. [7][9]
For your next buildPractice a small supported roll on a suitable spare section before shaping a full wig. Follow the actual fiber manufacturer’s heat guidance, work on a wig head and let the shape cool before removing support. Record the section order and pin placement as well as the finished silhouette. Following October 1’s faux-fur texture lesson, this adds a different fiber craft: arranging and supporting an updo rather than cutting pile. Arda hosts the tutorial as a wig supplier; this is not an independent product comparison.

Scope: one Málaga eyewitness report and one supplier-hosted wig tutorial. No global rankings, attendance estimates or inferred construction methods. [1][7]
Convention experience → practical routing
Xataka’s selected early-days interviews and observations put circulation, parallel sessions and rest needs alongside fandom. They describe one event at one stage of its weekend, not measured improvements for every attendee.
Wig silhouette → hidden sectioning and support
Hee-Hee’s Countess tutorial shows how lower rolls, overlaid sections and temporary pins build a finished silhouette. This is one maker’s documented method, not a count of current costume choices.
Checked October 3, 2026, America/Detroit. Four substantive findings rather than padding a thin fresh-news day: one newly published early-event report, two verified existing application-page checks and an established craft primer. Four independent external editorial or organizer domains are represented; the Google form counts with its Singapore organizer. The previous seven editions were reviewed, and unchanged recurring deadlines were omitted. Today’s improvement verifies Singapore’s linked form and preserves the distinction between a closed 2025 application and an unconfirmed 2026 route. Arda’s visible tutorial date is October 13, 2016; search indexing shows the following day. Programme listings are not proof of delivery. No sponsored placements by CosplayGrid, submitted applications or reproduced photography.
